Iranian Official Threatens Trump and Netanyahu with Saddam Hussein’s Fate

Al-Taj News – A senior Iranian military commander on Sunday threatened U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the fate of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

The official Iranian news agency (IRNA) quoted Ramadan Sharif, an adviser to the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as saying during a public event in Tehran that “the fate that befell Saddam and the Ba’ath Party will inevitably await both Trump and Netanyahu and their supporters.”

He continued by saying that “the Americans and Israelis launched their wars based on mistaken calculations, thereby refusing to acknowledge the historical reality.”

This comes as Iran’s “Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters” warned the United States and countries in the region against making any miscalculation involving taking any action against Iran.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted the “Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters,” the headquarters of the unified command of the Iranian military, as saying in a statement: “If you make a mistake, you will be targeted by painful attacks.”

The United States has not carried out any strikes on Iran for nearly two weeks.

The U.S. military had said it destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on September 8, in response to Iranian attempts to launch missile attacks on a U.S. Navy vessel, while Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had launched ballistic missiles at a U.S. base in Jordan.

There are no indications that negotiations between the United States and Iran will resume.
